As you all can tell I finally put up pictures of the art I've been doing lately. This is Day 2 of my funaday, doing something artistic/documenting something for the month of january. It's a philly wide thing, and I'm psyched to see other peoples in the exhibit. SO in this series I'm thinking a lot about dominance and submission and the figure, artist, model, viewer and various gazes. In this one I was thinking about what total submission would look like, that's why I erased out their face, and cropped it so the face wouldn't be in the picture plane. Also why I stamped "Day 2" on his ass. Who's in a dominant position the artist or the figure? I'm also interested in generally approaching the picture plane in a non-hierarchical way, and running over whatever's precious, while zoning out and letting new things happen I don't realize. I wish I had more space, and that I had a huge ass piece of paper to move all around on, and do my funaday on and go over and over the figure again and again. Maybe because I'm feeling drawing as a tnagible way of connecting memories through time and space. A process of remembering and always forgetting (ZONING OUT). Funny I'm going under too, just in a different space than Clay is.
