Mr. Shellman!

This is Virginia Johnson and Eddie J. Shellman in Creole Giselle by the Dance Theater of Harlem. Eddie was my ballet teacher in high school. He got put in jail while I was his student and the studio eventually got shut down, we tried to fight his sentancing and it was quite clear that it was racially motivated. He got taken away from his newborn son, wife and older son, and I stopped dancing because I couldn't find another ballet teacher that was so fun, body positive and in love with dancing as Eddie was. He wouldn't take any less than my best, and his classes helped me through a hard time in my life. He was a big masculine role model of mine, and I send him my love through the cybernetz.

This scene is where the ghost of Giselle (Virginia Johnson) and her love Albrecht (Eddie Shellman) plead to save him from being killed by a group of female ghosts that were jilted on their wedding days. Roaming the woods they were buried in at night, they dance to death any man they come across. Virginia Johnson's performance is heartbreaking imo, and I wish I saw more dancers like her.
